TrekCore can confirm that Playmates Toys has ended their plans for future Star Trek action figure releases entirely. Citing poor sales figures, the company is choosing to only release starship and roleplay toy items moving forward — items like their Enterprise and Enteprise-D electronic ships and classic Trek landing party gear.
Bummer, the figures looked cool... at least they'll still produce the ships.

In my wildest dreams, I would want Hasbro to take over the Trek license and give it the Star Wars treatment: figures in the 3.75- and 6-inch formats, rich in detail and articulation.
Sigh...
I hope the people at Mcfarlane Toys have the license.
