This looks pretty much how I expected it to... full of crappy & unappealing CGI (I thought the first one was "meh" also). Not my thing. I figure I'll eventually see it when it's released to streaming. At least this release gets us closer to James Gunn's DC universe movies.
OK.. this image makes me happy...

10 Years of Missed Opportunities: When Man of Steel dropped its first trailer I was super-excited! Of course when I saw the movie - I realized Snyder didn't truly understand the character. There were moments, but some scenes were downright bad (death of Pa Kent) and others were missed opportunities. Then came Batman V Superman - which again had a few moments, but was just a mess - with the best thing about it being Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman wasn't bad, but had a few minor problems (boat ride from Paradise Island to London), which could have been solved with creative solutions. Suicide Squad (2016) was pointless. Justice League (2017) was all over the place. Justice League (2021) was better, but could have been tightened up editorially. Aquaman was eye-candy and nothing more. Shazam tried to be too many things at once. Bird of Prey forgettable. Wonder Woman 1984 - painfully bad. The Suicide Squad (2021) had high hopes for it, but again so many missed opportunities to bring it to the next level - especially since it was R rated. Peacemaker - good series, with one miss cast. Black Adam - if this movie had come out when it was originally green lit in 2007 it would have done well, but super-hero genre has matured and moved on. Plus the storyline was overly convoluted when it wasn't necessary. Shazam Fury of the Gods - didn't make it pass the opening museum scene. Maybe one day I'll finish it. The Flash had moments, but this really should have been a Batman (Michael Keaton) movie that co-star Flash. The ONLY reason I saw it was of Keaton, which I loved. Blue Beetle - didn't see it, but will when it hits streaming.
So when Aquaman lands I have very little hope it will be good and truthfully I just don't care anymore. I've been a DC fan my whole life and to see what WB has done over the last 10 years makes me sad, because if they had understood their properties these last ten years could have been awesome!
Outside of the Synder-verse there have been some good movies - Joker & The Batman (of course the last 15 minutes of The Batman should have been cut - didn't need a destroyed Gotham)
As for the James Gunn reboot - well only time will tell!
