See, this right here is what went wrong with Star Wars. Lucas decided to take the super cool and mysterious Jedi Knights and define them. He defined them as bureaucrats, politicians, and military leaders. Oh, and detectives, and scholars, and fighter pilots. And monks. They were better as mysteries.
And while I'm at it, why do they all wear desert robes like Obi-Wan wore on Tatooine... I assumed he was in disguise like a local, but it turns out he was wearing the official Jedi Uniform. And here I thought Luke was wearing the clothes of a Jedi in ROTJ... black suit and cape. But, no... he was apparently just a weirdo.
