Ditko got spidey off to a great start... he was a great character from the get-go... but Romita turned him into a slick, commercially marketable brand. He took the raw visual soup of Ditko and molded it into solid form, and every (good) spidey depiction today owes everything to Romita.

I met this MASTER, thanks to Spiderman. At that time it was the most cinematographic thing I had seen in a comic Long live the King!!!

In the newspapers here (Argentina), they reported that the creator of Spider-Man and other Marvel characters had died.
