The Original Dune Cover VS Production (Final) Cover
via Ferran Delgado: The original painting at left vs production copy. Since editors or producers of the film asked for many changes of the original painting, Sienkiewicz did them over a photographic copy instead of reworking the original. The copy with the changes is called "production copy". If you compare both images you'll notice what he was asked to change. The whole background with the larger worm is completely new while the main figures were kept minus the bull. I was the owner of the production copy only for a couple of days, till I discovered that it was not the original painting, something that the seller "forgot" to mention.
