Thanks for this; it was great seeing the ones I missed back then and being reminded of the ones I'd seen. I remember at the time thinking at first that the monitor was just some high-tech criminal whose main story I had missed (though wasn't too invested in). Then at some point when I realized he was just a cameo guy, but in so many of my titles (the Earth-Two and LSH ones especially getting my attention) I was sure it was building up to some big reveal (I thought it was New Gods related and maybe he was Metron) and was excited. The last of these I saw at the time was the Forgotten Heroes cameo and mention of Earth-3 (a fav of mine) and so waited eagerly for the big event. I thought maybe he was the Earth-Three Darkseid who was neutral instead of evil (or good, but ruthless) or the Earth-3 Metron (who was decidedly NOT neutral). But boy was I exited waiting for some big annual or two-parter to come out I was deflating waiting so many months, fearing I'd missed it. And I sorta did. When it did come out, I missed seeing or hearing about Crisis #1 and didn't discover the truth until spotting #2 and being thrilled and horrified I'd missed #1. For some reason even those "Universe: Crisis.." one page ads didn't tip me to the connection.
They didn't before this, nor since, make anything so well set up and with such a perfect epic payoff. Made all the better by the late great Perez.
