Rob's Room: Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)

I was really pulling for Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)... Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn was the best part of Suicide Squad.  She is also the best part of Birds of Prey.  Unfortunately, the rest of it felt like a mash-up of the worst parts of Suicide Squad, Joel Schumacher's Batman and Robin, and a sprinkling of Tim Burton's set pieces towards the end. I can't recall Ewan McGregor over-chewing every single scene before; it was his worst performance since Danny Boyle's A Life Less Ordinary (which, at least, had a half decent soundtrack).  I'm almost impressed with how uninteresting they made Mary Elizabeth Winstead's Huntress (I admit unfamiliarity with the Helena Bertinelli comic character).  Many people are liking this movie and if you choose to see it I, honestly, hope you do too!  For me, it was a disappointment.  I think I may be sitting out the DC Universe until The Batman... sigh...
