Buy Worthy: The Ogre Gods Books 1, 2, & 3

Written by Hubert Boulard
Illustrated by Bertrand Gatignol

This internationally celebrated series of dark fantasy tales have been described as Game of Thrones in a Brothers Grimm fairy tale, presented as if a Disney animated feature.

Book 1: Petit is the son of the Ogre King, and the littlest giant in the royal clan. Scarcely larger than a mere human, he is the latest sign of the family's rapid degeneration, which makes each generation smaller than the one before. His father wants him killed as an embarrassment, but his mother sees in him the possible regeneration of the family lineage, since he could mate with a human, just as the Founder of their lineage once did. Confused, she confides in great Aunt Desdée, the oldest of their clan, who was once dishonored because of her love for the humans, whom the Ogres consider little more than labor and food. But contrary to her guidance, she decides to raise Petit in the family traditions, including the violent impulses that this entails. So Petit grows into manhood, torn by the hunger he inherited from his upbringing and the sympathetic education he received from Aunt Desdée . . . will he find his place in this world divided between humans and giants, neither of which truly accept him? And will he survive the voracious appetite of his own monstrous family?

Book 2: Yori is a Half-Blood, the son of a noble-born and his mistress. Raised alongside the king's degenerate legitimate children, his intelligence and grace become the focus of their jealousy. After one fight too many, the bastard is thrown into the streets with his mother, where they face the harshness of common life. Alcoholism, prostitution, and the challenges of this new life forge in him a soul of iron, driving the young man to do anything necessary to take revenge on the paternal clan who evicted them so cruelly. And thus he begins a cold and Machiavellian climb.Half-Blood is the story of a fair count of Monte Cristo drowning in his thirst for revenge. His is a fascinating climb back into power, placing his pawns with a wicked smile and the insolence of his youth, sweeping away any and all opposition. His madness is endearing to follow, like a Nero overlooking Rome, to what is a final, tragic, and masterful ending. Set in the giant-filled world of Petit, this parallel story stands alone, telling the tale of Yori and his own struggle to find his place among a family who would not have him, their own dramatic politics and family history playing out in the shadow of the giants' castle that looms above their city.

Book 3: A direct continuation of PETIT and HALF-BLOOD, this third book in the series of standalone tales explores another part of the dark, fairy tale world created by author Hubert and illustrator Bertrand Gatignol, this time focusing on those humans who live outside the kingdom amidst the dangerous surrounding wilderness. Lours is an aging leader of a passionate rebel clan who seeks to defend their traditions and territory from those who would take it from them, including the Chamberlain of the nearby kingdom and the giant Ogre Gods who rule above them. When he comes across a fleeing giant barely taller than a bear, he brings the wounded curiosity into their camp and nurses him back to health with plans that could help them define a new order. But this tiny giant has an agenda of his own -- young Petit has the wellbeing of his human love at the forefront of his priorities, and she has become an unwitting pawn in the Chamberlain's wicked plans...
