Rob's Room: Arthur Suydam’s DCeased #4 vs Harley’s Joker "Killing Joke" Cosplay

Arthur Suydam’s DCeased #4 vs Harley’s Joker "Killing Joke" Cosplay (via Bleeding Cool)

I find this fascinating... Harley's Joker is an amazing cosplayer who paid tribute to Brian Bolland's "Killing Joke" cover.  Cover artist, Arthur Suydam, in turn, used Harley's Joker as ...ahem...  a "starting point" for his homage cover in DCEASED issue #4. But, damn... he barely even tried to hide the fact that he was swiping and altering another artist's work (at least that I can find... will update if other info comes to light).  I'm not sure if the obviousness of this lift makes matters better or worse.  It would be one thing if it was a fan edit... but, presumably, he was paid for this cover art.  At the very least, he should have credited HJ's work... and possibly offered to shared part of his earnings.  And yet, it cannot go unnoticed that Harley Joker, himself, sells prints of his Bolland homage - but at least HJ indicates his prints are a "tribute."
Updated with Arthur Suydam’s response... (not sure this was the right way to go, Mr. Suydam):
Updated.  Grab your popcorn, the drama continues!  Anthony Misiano (Harley's Joker) was contacted by Arthur Suydam and/or his representative: (also via Bleeding Cool)
Kudos to Anthony Misiano (Harley's Joker) for standing his ground:

It's one step away from using an app to "paint" your photo. Wow, big swipeys.
