If ever given the chance to do something in the DCU, THIS is what I would love to do. DARK KNIGHT DETECIVE; a crime series set in Gotham city. Not a superhero book. It would be a mix of the Batman Animated Series, Year One, Gotham Central, and The Wire. This would be a more street-level book with the emphasis on the Batman solving actual crimes, instead of fighting super-villains all the time. As seen, I would love to make the covers look more like those old pulp crime novels. Not that it will ever happen, but I live in hope....
This could be one of the greatest things ever...

God, yes, what a great idea! I am SO sick of the stories of Batman v. Joker, Killer Croc, Two Face, Penguin (insert hackneyed villain here), etc. Give him an actual mystery to solve where we are privy to his procedure, and where it unravels before us, like in "The Long Halloween!"
Can you imagine Se7en as a Batman movie…? Something like that would be awesome!
