History: Tarzan and the Super 7 was originally the Batman/Tarzan Adventure Hour which aired on CBS Saturday mornings during the 1977–1978. During the 1980–1981 television season, NBC ran repeat episodes under the title Batman and the Super 7. This hour long series featured all of the original ‘Super 7’ segments except Jason of Star Command and Tarzan, Lord of the Jungle. The Tarzan show continued airing repeats on CBS as part of The Tarzan/Lone Ranger Adventure Hour (1980–1981), later renamed The Tarzan/Lone Ranger/Zorro Adventure Hour (1981–1982).
Fun Fact: Web Woman introduction prompted Marvel Comics to introduce a character called Spider-Woman, real name Jessica Drew, so it could secure intellectual property rights to the name. Stan Lee said in 1978,
I suddenly realized that some other company may quickly put out a book like that and claim they have the right to use the name, and I thought we'd better do it real fast to copyright the name. So we just batted one quickly, and that's exactly what happened. I wanted to protect the name, because it's the type of thing [where] someone else might say, 'Hey, why don't we put out a Spider-Woman; they can't stop us.' ... You know, years ago we brought out Wonder Man, and [DC Comics] sued us because they had Wonder Woman, and ... I said okay, I'll discontinue Wonder Man. And all of a sudden they've got Power Girl [after Marvel had introduced Power Man]. Oh, boy. How unfair.Fun Fact: Due to lawsuits from Marvel Comics and DC Comics, Superstretch and MicroWoman, Manta & Moray and Web Woman have been withdrawn from distribution.
