Clipped from Sidne Gail Ward:
Back in 1990 DC Comics put out a set of postcards featuring members of the then-current incarnation of the Legion of Super-Heroes. The set included a title card and 15 character cards. The art was pencilled by Keith Giffen, inked by Al Gordon, and colored by Tom McCraw. Tom and Mary Bierbaum provided text information on each character which was printed on the back of the cards. The set was priced $8.00 U.S. ($12.00 Can.).
Apparently few comic shops ordered the postcards since many Legion of Super-Heroes fans have never seen a set. This is a shame since it's really a beautiful set of postcards. Keith Giffen's art works better in this format than the smaller panels in the 9 panel pages typical of this run of the Legion comics. Additionally, at the time the postcards were issued there was criticism that some of the text pieces contained information not revealed yet in the comics themselves.
