Rob's Room: Steranko's Splash Pages

No one spreads 'em like Steranko... umm... splash pages & wraparounds, that is!
Also, check out the Dork's AWESOME post: (though excerpts are included here):
Jim Steranko's The Exile at the Edge of Eternity
Steranko's work on the Outland adaptation for Heavy Metal magazine is unparalleled!  Read more & see more at The Bronze Age of Blogs: Steranko's Outland.  Someone needs to reprint this story ASAP!

Even thought his output is relatively minimal compared to other greats like Jack Kirby, no one advanced the medium of comics and their possibility like Steranko did. I have his book on the history of comics. Genius stuff. I rank him right up there with the great Kirby who worked with Steranko. My favorite story is that when Kirby heard that Steranko was a escape artist in his youth he created Mr. Miracle based on that. I could talk about these two guys all day long.

I've not heard that story about Mr. Miracle. Will look into it immediately... Thanks!
