Rob's Room: Shazam Costumes

I know it's not fair to judge a costume from a set photo, but my initial impression is disappointment.  I hate the stupid hood. I'll reserve final judgement until I see an official image of the damn suit, but I can't help but wish Warner Bros would stick more closely to the original source material.  With all the reference and talent at their disposal, you'd think they could really come up with good costumes (I, personally, felt the design went off the rails once they started using a glowing thunderbolt).  Please, someone convince me otherwise... I really don't want to be another internet troll! That said, I have no issue with the casting of Zachary Levi.  I'll keep the set photos buried at the bottom of this post for those who may wish to avoid spoilers...
Is that Mr. Tawky Tawny on his buttons...?

I like Gary Frank. That being said, his CM costume is the worst, lousiest, stupidest thing ever. He totally misses the point, by Nu52-ing it up, with overly complicated shapes, weird tangents and angles, superfluous lines, and that hoodie. Oh, the hoodie...

This is why I don't read modern comics. They're no longer made for me... and I don't want to know the people they are made for. But, luckily, I have about 40 years of CM stories to catch up on.

I totally agree, Tony! To me, the latest design has "executive notes" written all over them... But to me, the Big Cheese's costume started to falter with the later Alex Ross redesign and his ginormous glowing thunderbolt. It just got carried further and further after that.

I hope the Shazam movie is good because that gives KINGDOM COME a chance of happening. Their is an unrealized dream movie project.
